For individuals who have experience with EnCase eDiscovery software and can demonstrate proficiency in eDiscovery planning, project management and best practices spanning legal hold to load file creation. The EnCEP certification shows that you can manage and successfully complete all sizes of eDiscovery matters in accordance with the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
You must have three months experience in eDiscovery collection, processing and/or project management. You must also attend the live EnCase eDiscovery training course OR completed the EnCase On-Demand eDiscovery training course OR completed the on-site EnCase eDiscovery implementation training. You must then complete the EnCEP application. Once your application is approved, you must submit payment of $125 ($150 if outside the US) for your study guide and the exams.
The exam is broken into two phases, a written exam of 100 questions and an online scenario exam. Both have a passing score of 80%.
Certification is valid for 3 years. To renew your certification, you must attend a minimum of 32 credit hours of documented continuing education in eDiscovery OR attend one CEIC conference and at least 10 eDiscovery laboratory sessions.
Should your certification expire, you will be required to restart the EnCEP process from Phase I.
